Funding and support

Skillset Cymru

Skillset Cymru is part of the wider UK Skillset Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries (broadcast, film, video, interactive media and photo imaging). Jointly funded by industry and government, its job is to make sure that the UK audio visual industries have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, so that our industries remain competitive.

Skillset has a range of company support packages aimed to support the Film and Television industries. These include:

TV Freelance Fund helps training providers fund training that is of particular benefit to the UK TV workforce.

Film Skills Fund makes grants to organisations across all sectors within the UK film industry to develop, deliver and facilitate film-specific training. So far Skillset has invested over £12 million in film-specific training.

Skills Investment Fund (SIF) is a joint industry/Government initiative, formally introduced in October 1999 to ensure long-term investment of training and for the development of professionals within the UK Film Industry.

Film Company Support Scheme offers free Human Resources (HR) and Training consultancy service to all sectors in the Film industry.
